Kyrie/Leo Pups - Some LER Photos

Hello everyone! Ready for some pictures from the first Kyrie/Leo litter LER? :)

Ajax loves cheese...he was so determined to get it that is was really hard to get a good photo of him!

Andros just did NOT like the table...we had to really work to get him comfortable up there! He did love the cheese, though. :)

Astra is JUST like her momma Kyrie. Two seconds and we got her into a perfect stack, which she held while being fed enough cheddar cheese for a queen!

Here are the results of the temperament testing; we didn't have time to take still photos of the pups during that. Too busy trying to score and write down all my notes on the sheets!

Astra: Low-drive with an independent streak! Takes longer to bond, and will need lots of socialization with her new family (they live on campus, and she has already met over twenty new people, two cats, and three friendly Beagles in her first three days...I think they are rising to the challenge!). Very submissive (scored ten out of ten) and would have been a Soft temperament...if not for that stubborn streak, which I am pretty sure she got from her mom! ;) High pain tolerance. Could care about loud noises--turned around during that phase of the test and cocked her head at the tester! I had hoped that she might make a good service dog prospect for her new owner, who has some spinal/stability issues, and she is already starting to try to retrieve things for him. Go go Astra!

Andros: Very happy, people-oriented puppy! Loves to please, though is a little noise-sensitive and will need desensitization to loud stuff. He would have tested out as a harder temperament (high pain tolerance and lower submission) but is so very oriented on his people and doing things with them that Lisa graded him a Medium instead of Medium-Hard. He is a little uneasy in strange environments and a lot of socialization would be excellent for him--though given his propensity to go everywhere with his family, that shouldn't be hard!

Ajax: Equally happy with his people or off exploring, this pup is more submissive (eight out of ten) but doesn't forgive as easily. He also has a high pain tolerance. He has the most drive of all the pups--he loves to attack feet and toes, and to tug on clothes! His new people will need to set some boundaries, but he is a loving pup who adores attention, so that should make things a little easier. He startled at the loud noise but recovered quickly! He tested as a Medium temperament. :)

Hope y'all enjoyed the update! Next we have some new photos of Astra with one of her new people, and a couple pics of the boys while they wait to go to their new homes!

Kyrie/Leo Pups at 8 weeks!

Welcome to our Kyrie/Leo pups at eight weeks photo update! I had a big convention for my work this week so sadly we didn't get time for many photos, but I did snap these one evening. Apologies for the couple that are blurry!

At eight weeks, Astra weighed in at a whopping 19 pounds 2 ounces!

At eight weeks, Andros weighed in at a HUGE 20 pounds 1 ounce!

Andros's left ear is also trying to come up!

Ajax at eight weeks weighed 17 pounds 2 ounces! Not bad for a pup who was not even one pound at birth! ;)

Thanks so much for checking back, everyone! Next up: an update on the LER (Litter Evaluation Report)!

Kyrie/Leo Pups at Seven Weeks!

Welcome to the seven-weeks update for the Kyrie/Leo litter! Sorry for the lag--we'll try to catch up in the next couple days. :)

The pups spent a lot of time outside this week, with people and with other dogs! The adult Shilohs really like to play with the pups. When the little ones are in the pen, Leo and Thorn especially will play-bow and run around the outside so the pups can chase them!

Here is your weekly Andros update! Andros at seven weeks weighed in at 15 pounds, 11.5 ounces. :)

Astra is still our calm, sweet girl. :) At seven weeks she weighed 14 pounds 5 ounces. She likes to beat up her brothers but is a real snuggler with people--if she finds an available lap, she usually climbs right up into it!

Ajax is still Mister Personality! He is a bouncy, happy pup who is at home playing with people or exploring by himself. At seven weeks he weighed in at 12 pounds, 4.5 ounces.

Thanks for checking in, everyone! Eight weeks and Litter Evaluation photos, coming soon! :)

Kyrie/Leo Pups at 6 Weeks!

Welcome to the photo update for the Kyrie/Leo pups at six weeks!

Presenting Ajax (who looks more like his daddy Leo every day)!

"OWWWW Andros!! That's my foot!"

"YOW! Ajax!! Get off my head!"

Andros has a dingo face...

Another look at the dingo face!

Andros, in a rare moment of stillness (usually he comes running to try to lick the camera lens...)!

Astra is so sweet, and such a cutie!

She barely fits in the box now. Time for a new bed!

Sweet face. :)

The pups have a big x-pen "puppy preserve" outside now!

Unfortunately they're much happier when their humans are in the pen WITH them...bye 'till next time, everyone!

Kyrie/Leo Pups at 5 weeks!

Welcome to the Kyrie/Leo pups at five weeks update! I have a LOT of photos to put up so we'll cut right to the chase. :)

Ajax is our people-loving Mr. Personality boy! He loves to play and to interact with his humans. :) He has stayed very dark for a sable, retaining a large, broad streak of black on his back and also on his belly, with black stripes going down his legs. We think he will either be a very dark brown sable like Kyrie or a black sable with tan when he grows up. :) Here's Ajax at five weeks:

Andros is living up to his warrior name! He loves to play-fight with his brother and sister. He has stayed very dark and we are thinking he may be a true bi-black and tan! If not he will certainly be a very dark dual black and tan. He is also a very people-focused pup, and he is our "howler" as you can see from the following photo! Enjoy your dose of Andros at five weeks. :)

Astra is still our sweet, calm, quiet girl. The boys mob visitors; Astra hangs back and waits for an invitation to approach. She reminds us very much of her daddy Leo when he was a pup. :)

Astra says, "Mommy says I am a mega couch potato."

"I do not get it. I am not a couch...OR a potato!"

The pups had their first trip outside at five weeks!

The boys are usually together these days, playing around (and occasionally, on) Astra as she naps! Here they are:

They LOVE to play-fight!

Ajax says, "Don't you dare jump on me, Andros!"

"Oh NOW you'll be sorry! I have my dingo face on!"

"I'VE GOT YOUR TAIL! Take that!!"

"OW OW OW! He's got my foot!!"

"Whew...that was exhausting!"
